WHO IS CHUQUI CHINCHAY?
Mother and Protector of the Qariwarmi nonbinary/trans people of the Andes
Chuquichinchay (or in English,
"DANCING FELINE") is the name of the Andean protector deity of the indigena de dos naturas (two-natured indigenous people): people who represented elements of masculinity and femininity simultaneously.
In the pre-Hispanic Andes, reality was understood according to the principle of COMPLEMENTARY DUALITY. This consists of the presence of opposing pairs that must relate to each other in a reciprocal manner in order to maintain social, cultural, and political EQUILIBRIUM. Gender relations were also organized according to this principle and were expressed in the masculine (qari) -feminine (warmi) duality.

Our
Story
Chuqui Chinchay is more than a name—it is a spirit, a guide, and a sacred lineage. In Inka tradition, Chuqui Chinchay is the jaguar deity of the rainbow, the divine guardian of those who walk between worlds and genders. They are the protector of duality and balance—of those who carry the medicine of transformation, fluidity, and healing across borders, time, and traditions.

This sacred name was gifted to me as a recognition of the path I walk: one rooted in the Peruvian Andes through my mother and grandmother, and woven with the Mayan wisdom of my father's ancestral lineage from Mexico. I carry the condor, eagle, quetzal, and the rainbow jaguar,

Chuqui Chinchay Healing Arts was born as a living altar to these traditions. A space where ancient medicine is honored with humility and shared with care. A place where LGBTQIA+ people, BIPOC healers, and all seekers of soul truth are seen, guided, and empowered.

This is not just my story—it is our collective story of remembering. Of reweaving the sacred. Of walking in ayni—right relationship—with our bodies, ancestors, spirit, and the Earth.
